The challenge receives submissions from sound designers and engineers around the country looking to release their software creations upon the world. Submissions include VST/AU plugins and sound ware products. The best part is, they’re all free to download. Glotch – Free Glitch Sequencer Artcraft has recently released a new Max for Live glitch-sequencer plugin called Glotch. The simple but useful plugin, is equipped with four different glitch functions, a standard high and low pass filter, a resolution knob, and a smooth knob, which all come together as a handy glitch-sequencer. The plugin is arranged in a grid with 32 beats, (eight bars,) that you can alter and assign to individual beats. You are able to shorten the loop of the glitch down to a single beat. Each bar is also equipped with a power and value parameter which effect how much of an effect the glitch parameters have over your sound. Metamorphosis – Free M4L Granular Looper Dillon Bastan AKA Integrate Live is a musician/developer  from Los Angeles. He recently release a very cool and very free granular looper. Metamorphosis has a few options for playback mode: linear, sine wave, custom envelope (drawn with a multislider), and scan (which is a knob that can can through the samples). It has a built in filter and grain sequencer you can even record live input. Simply press “record” on the left. If the buffer is empty, make sure you resize it first to the desired length (in ms). Really great instrument that doesn’t require any MIDI notes to play because it’s based on playback mode and looping. You can come up with really interesting sounds in no time.
