GDC 2018 Sample Pack – 30gb of FREE Sounds Holy tolito have we got some great news for you – Sonniss has released a huge collection of sounds in honor of the 2018 Game Developer’s Conference. This makes the 4th year running that Sonniss has released a sample pack and it marks their biggest release yet with over 30gb of high-quality audio samples. Rolling in just under a thousand samples (985 to be exact) the collection includes sounds of all sorts ranging from sci-fi noises to field recordings, human noises, weapon sounds, drones, impacts, and much much more. The collection includes choice picks from a number of libraries Sonniss sells collections for, if you like a specific set of sounds you’ll be able to purchase from their creators on the Sonniss website. Supersounds – FREE Modular Synthesizer Library With our Sound Design Course just starting up recently we wanted to share with you some awesome FREE downloads – Irrupt Supersounds. Supersounds is a sound library containing 412 audio samples and loops recorded at 122.5bpm. All files are available in 4 different formats – 16-bit and 24-bit WAV, 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz, all mono. Polyverse released “Wider,” a stereo widener plugin that is modeled after the same feature found in their AMAZING Manipulator plugin. Aside from being extremely quick and kind on your CPU, Wider is also entirely mono-capable meaning that it prevents phase-cancellation often found in stereo widener plugins. Satal is designed as a straightforward instrument built for a simple workflow, the user interface certainly lends to that notion. The plugin can be downloaded as a VST or AU format. Multiple formats are supported for loading into the plugin – WAV, AIFF, MP3, WMA, FLAC, and many others! Momentum – FREE Sample Pack from Audiomodern We’re continuing from our last post the trend of free stuff so today we’re letting you about ‘Momentum’ a free sample pack from Audiomodern. Momentum contains free downloadable audio files in WAV format ranging from ambient sounds to drone textures to pads; 30 royalty-free sounds are available in high-quality 24-bit WAV format. The majority of the samples run about a minute in length giving you a lot to chop up or simply use unchanged as background textures. Subtle automation has been included in each sample to keep the timbre changing over the runtime of each thus keeping the sounds fresh. With some fine-tuning and shaping, you could map the samples to a sampler and use them melodically to attain some pretty lush sounds. The pack isn’t designed as a preset pack so you’ll have to make your own instruments from the sounds but …
