Wave – The Wearable Ring MIDI Controller

Wave – The Wearable Ring MIDI Controller Ginki Instruments just launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo for their wearable MIDI controller – Wave. Wave is a MIDI controller packed into a ring, with multiple parameters for control – pan, roll, tilt, tap, plus 5 assignable buttons on the ring. Each parameter can be assigned to control any other parameter this is MIDI mappable. You can connect it to your DAW, music apps on your phone or tablet, or the Eurorack synth the Genki has created in conjunction with Wave – the Wavefront. Wavefront is an incredible feat – a synthesizer controllable by a Bluetooth MIDI controller, and one that you can wear! Wave isn’t the first wearable MIDI controller but Wavefront makes Wave an attractive option compared to its predecessors.         A few applications we can think of are adding vocal effects while singing, adding effects or launching samples while DJ’ing, doing cool pitch …

Temper – FREE Phase Distortion Plugin Temper is a free distortion plugin released by Creative Intent that has a unique charm we wanted to share with you! This plugin was originally priced at $10 but then the developers decided to re-release it for, and share the source code. All those interested in programming can now take a look under the hood of the plugin and see how its algorithm makes it such a powerful tool. The interface is simple to use, there are three knobs for controlling the tone of the distortion itself (curve, drive, saturation), a cutoff and resonance knob for the filter, a feedback knob for increasing the overdrive signal, and a volume knob for increasing the output of the overall sound. The saturation curve can add warmth and bite to your sound, and the phase distortion can add real character and clarity to your sound. Let’s get more into …

7 Factors to Think About Before Buying a Digital Piano

7 Factors to Think About Before Buying a Digital Piano One of the music producer’s most important tools is the keyboard, and if your compositions rely on realistic piano sounds then you’re going to want a good piano. Unfortunately, not everyone has the room for an acoustic piano, or can afford to buy one. That’s where the digital piano comes in – a digital piano uses recorded samples and an electronic keyboard to recreate the sound and feel of acoustic pianos. Digital Pianos typically have more than just one sound in addition to a Grand or Upright piano, sounds like: Organ, Strings, Harpsichord, etc. The quality of these internal sounds, the build, and the other included features will determine the cost of the piano. We’ve assembled a list of factors to think about when searching for the right digital piano, read them below. su_divider top=”no” divider_color=”#d2d2d2″ size=”1″ The Keyboard The keyboard of a …
